I started working as professor of practice in the University of Helsinki, therefore I can take only limitted number of new assingments in the future.

I received my Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki in 1985, and performed court training in the Iitti circuit. I worked as Counsel in the law office of Heikki Salo from 1987 to 1990, after which I became a Partner at Fredman and Månsson. I have been a member of the Finnish Bar Association since 1989. I am a Doctor of Laws from University of Turku (2018). I have title of docent (procedural law) at University of Helsinki.
I have pled human rights cases. The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has issued judgement in 19 of these cases. I have also represented three clients in two cases in the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg. In Finland 53 of my cases have been accepted to the yearbook of the Supreme Court as well as 19 of my cases are included in the yearbook of the Supreme Administrative Court.
During years 2005-2011 I was a board member of the Finnish Bar Association and Chairman of the Bar's specialists' groups on Criminal Procedure Law and Human Rights Law. I have also been the chairman of the Bar Association's nomination committee. I was a member of the Government appointed National Discrimination Tribunal during years 2004-2014 and was a member of the Government appointed Commission to inquire into the development trends of the court system in Finland.
Member of The European Criminal Bar Associaton and a member of the Legal Experts Advisory Panel.
Board member and tresurer of the Procedural Law Society of Finland and editor of the Procedural Law blog.
